Our employees have the freedoms of an independent contractor / 1099 worker with the support and protections of being a W2 employee.
Our employees are grown ass adults and are treated as such. All artists have unlimited time off, vacation days & personal days.
No time off requests, make-up days, bartering with management or competing with coworkers for days off.
Are you a morning person or a night owl? Would you prefer to work during the week or would you rather work during the weekends?
Our artists have the freedom to curate a schedule that works best for them, their lifestyle and their circadiam rhythm.
Work a daytime schedule, a mid-day schedule or an overnight schedule (seriously, there are overnight workers out there who would fucking love a 3am haircut).
All of our artists use a time based / hourly pricing method that is genderless and gratuity free. This empowers our employees to charge their worth and increases transparency & trust with our clients.
Hourly rates & price increases are never determined by level systems, benchmarks or retail goals.
Hair salon’s don’t “own clients”.
Period.
All of our artists use their own email address for client communications. The client list and connections that our artists make while they are working here is theirs to keep.
Every artist of WFLYH is paid the same commission percentage. No sliding scale commissions, ever.
All mandatory meetings are paid at the current minimum wage rate.
Product charges / back bar fees are confusing, borderline unethical and eat away a commission percentages.
WFLYH provides all Soft Tools (such as hair dye, developer, shampoo, conditioner, styling products, foils, towels, capes etc) needed to support your artistry.
Hard Tools (such as blowdryers, brushes, combs, shears & clippers, etc) due to their personal nature are the responsibility of each employee. We provide a secure location for each artist to store their tools when they are away from the salon.
Want to raise your prices? Fuck yes!
We work one on one with our artists to help them determine when and how much their price increases should be.
No retail or prebooking goal posts over here.
Working towards buying something awesome or saving for a month long vacation? Our artists can work as much or as little as they want to.
Your growth is unlimited.
Want to work at two different salons? Work wherever, and whenever the fuck you want.
Moving to or from another area or state and want to be able to work in both states? We gotchu!
Wanna go out and try things out on your own for a little while? Fucking love that for you, our door is always open!
